I felt like my environment saw me as too much, talking too much, being too much, too much, too much, and too much… and eventually, I felt unwanted. As an adopted child from Sri Lanka, I always felt like an outsider, but the worst part was experiencing racism no matter how I behaved. This led me to feel worthless and lonely, causing me to suppress my emotions and I began to seek new and more toxic environments to feel seen. The challenge was I was seen for the wrong reasons I excluded my loved ones and ended up feeling even more lonely.

See how I realized I had to change my environment to create healthier relationships and start looking inwards to face my unrest. I worked my way through the support system and got diagnosed with ADHD in my 20’s, which gave me a foundation to explore myself. Learn how I started looking at my own emotions to be able to share my inner world with those around me and build deeper relationships. This helped me stand more comfortably as a friend, a mom, a loved one and a person. A person with a lot of energy and expression and more outgoing but also emotional and engaged. Despite the world being the same, I felt liberated and motivated to share my story to help society become more accepting.
