I was abruptly left alone and responsible for our daughter when my husband was taken to prison. On top of feeling alone, I was forced out of my beloved country and had to take on my husband’s role as a freedom fighter. Carrying these responsibilities was well beyond what I could have imagined and weighed on me heavily.

See how I asked family members for support with my daughter’s care and to help support the movement, that means so much to us. Learn how the community gave me the hope and strength required to keep the movement alive and the energy I need today to free my husband and other freedom fighters from prison. Hear how this journey challenged me to connect with the cause and pushed me to embody the role of a freedom fighter.
