I was haunted by the fear that my daughter would grow up without a father. As our freedom was shrinking by the day, my determination to work for freedom increased. Coming back to Nicaragua after leading the movement, I was public enemy number one, and it was just a matter of time before my time was up. Fortunately, I “only” ended up in prison, but my family paid the price as my whereabouts were kept from the world. My lingering for them challenged my mind and heart to the extreme.

See how I managed to occupy my mind while in prison to keep my faith alive. Hearing about my wife’s efforts to lead the movement for my release helped me stay clear at heart. Learn how I was finally reunited with my daughter and family after close to two years in prison. Now, I had to face my new challenge of reintegrating with my family and life outside the prison walls. Hear how my daughter had the wisdom I needed and how spending time with her and my wife helped me fill my heart to continue my work for freedom stronger than ever.
