I felt I was born into the wrong body, and walking through life being mirrored as a boy tore my soul apart. Growing up in a small village, my feminine features and behaviors were constantly pointed out by my peers and environment, even though my family created a safe home. As I grew older, gender separation practices and expectations grew to the point where I felt ostracized everywhere I went. As someone who loved performance art and creativity, my colorful soul slowly withdrew to a state of survival, dominated by feelings of loneliness and hopelessness.

See how I started my transition process at university and how that led to new challenges as I felt my surroundings changed in how they interacted with me. I encountered more structural discrimination, but also direct abuse and violence from different people and even the police. Learn how these brutal experiences awakened the activist in me, and how I engaged with the online Trans community. This brought me a lot of solace, and I was inspired by other activists to speak up about my experiences and transgender rights online. I found a community where I felt more understood, which, combined with support from friends and family, helped me create space to safely explore my identity and allowed me to evolve and see my personality blossom in its full colors.
