Freedom, Work, Depression

It felt like I was a passenger in my own life, and when I got back control, the accident had already happened. Growing up, my Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) started demanding more and more space. While dealing with growing financial distress both in our community and during my Uni years, my BPD worsened. It felt like my emotions overpowered me, and I jumped from suicidal depressions to surges of aggression, which took a massive toll on my relationships. It got to the point where I felt isolated and trapped in the darkness of loneliness and despair.

See how being “heard” by a phone operator when I desperately called a suicide hotline helped me find hope. That experience fueled me to seek even deeper knowledge about my Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) to better manage the challenging periods. Learn how moving and changing my surroundings allowed me to cover my basic needs and diminish the triggering stress. Redesigning my life and speaking up about BPD gave me the extra energy I needed to finish my PhD and to start nurturing my self-worth.
