Outside the house, I was hearing what I wanted to hear and getting what I wanted to get. Growing up in an impoverished home and environment my peers felt we didn’t get the care and attention we needed at home, so we searched outward. Before I knew it the lifestyle had escalated and I was knee-deep in crime, and it left me feeling constantly on the edge. Eventually, I felt a strange combination of being untouchable and insecure. Every time I sat down my head went spinning, but in an environment deprived of vulnerability, you’ll try anything to escape it, to the point where I was numbed.

See how my life path caught up with me and how going to the court made me question my direction. Ever since I was a child I had felt hyperactive and struggled to channel my energy and frustrations, but boxing gave me that outlet. Learn how the combination of having a healthy place to release and someone seeing me for a talent healed my self-worth and life motivation. Now I had something healthy to live for and I started growing as a person at the same time as a boxer. This time when faced with adversity I had the deeper motivation to work through it until I became the UK boxing champion, aiming for the world cup title.
