I grew up in a turbulent home and experienced violence both at school and at home. I ended up suppressing my emotions and became a quiet child living mainly in my own thoughts as hope for a better life was slowly disappearing. In my teens I used drugs to escape my reality. I'd often find myself feeling angry and this only increased my desire to find my next hit of drugs. I felt an overwhelming sense of shame and spent my life on the outskirts of society. Eventually, I lost all sense of self worth.

Hear how I was bounced between institutions and how a stay at a new interdisciplinary specialized drug treatment helped me break my toxic cycles. See how this stay helped me face my childhood trauma, the cause of my addiction. Learn how this helped me start processing my shame and forgive myself and find the version of myself I thought I had lost forever.
