It was the highlight of my year, Utøya political summer camp, where I was in charge of my local group of teenagers. A terrorist attack turned my favorite time of year into an inferno of screaming, fear and death. In just a few moments I lost 69 friends and fellow campers, witnessing some of them being shot and killed first-hand. For me, the worst was still yet to come. While everyone else was continuing their lives I was battling with the survivors guilt, the nightmares and suicidal thoughts. Eventually I found the strength to open up to my friends about how I felt, giving them the space they needed to support me.
