It felt like I was imprisoned by my own simple village life of moving purposelessly from my bed to the farm and back to bed. I struggled with keeping up academically, and the pressure of my family's economic burden got to me as the firstborn, and I failed my exams. This made me feel like a failure, and I slipped into loneliness while isolating even further, creating a deteriorating loop. I saw it as the end of my existence and the start of my suffering to be stuck in this “failure’s” life in the village.
See what made me decide to go back to high school and how reconnecting with a friend helped me form a partnership for success. Together, we created a strategy and found mentors to support us in reaching new academic heights, which resulted in us going straight to university. Learn how this gave me the opportunity to combine pursuing a career with thinking outside the box to create a small business on the side. This business started gaining traction, and with it grew my motivation and sense of purpose. I met a mental health organization, Shamiri Health, that brought me into the world of sharing your journey and creating a space for vulnerability and community. This gave me a platform to inspire others, but also to make good use of my skillset for an organization and a purpose I very much could resonate with from my own journey.
This is my story.
