I had to flee my heart's home Congo in fear of my own life during the war. Being forced to leave against my will created a massive grief that I carried with me into my new destination. I did not feel welcomed and combined with knowing my country’s still at war, I felt hopeless, lonely and frustrated.

See how I decided to allow space for my feelings and found motivation to make a home out of my new country, but still keep Congo in my heart. Learn how I used my experience and energy to engage in community work and continue to support my family and people back home.
