It was time for the yearly Utøya political summer camp, and I was excited to meet and engaged with other youth. The 22nd of July turned my excitement into a nightmare, that I witnessed from a barricaded room. I lost 69 friends and peers that day, and while the world slowly started moving forward, I found myself stuck. I felt solely defined by this horrific event, and I struggled with PTSD to the point where I did not recognize my own behavior. See how I choose to be open about my experiences to be in control of how the event defined me, and how changing my environment helped me move forward.
